Week 7 - 2023 General Session

Over the last seven weeks, my colleagues and I have passed meaningful legislation that will greatly benefit every member of out district. I am deeply honored for the privilege I have to represent each of you. Though this year’s legislative session has come to an end, I will continue to serve you all year long.

HB384 that specifies how funding is allocated for outdoor recreation projects including nearly $35 million this fiscal year passed a final vote in the Senate and is off to the Governor for his signature. The Outdoor Adventure Commission will review and prioritize $19M of those funds.

New Utah State Flag

Utah has a new state flag! I’ve been watching this process move forward for a few years and I’m impressed by the thousands of designs that were submitted. After several refinements I’ve come to really like the final design. The current flag will still continue as the state Historic Flag and both flags will continue to be used in different circumstances.

As always, I want to hear from you! Join me this Saturday March 4th at 1:00pm for an end of session Town Hall with Senator McCay, Rep. Strong, Rep. Pierucci, and Rep. Cobb. Meet with us and share you interests and concerns at Riverton City Hall.

Watch the video below for a recap of the final week of the session!
